Planting the Learning Seeds with Alex

Planting the Learning Seeds with Alex

Hi there, I'm Alex. I’m a Pilates Instructor and busy mum to my 5 year old daughter Imogen and and 3 year old son Max. Together with my husband and 2 dogs we live in Murray Bridge. On the weekends we enjoy spending time at home getting outside in the sunshine - or rain for the muddy puddles.

1. My favourite picture book for little learners is …
Where The Wild things Are by Maurice Sendak. My husband is a much funnier reader than me taking on all of the silly voices and actions!

2. Something I’ve learnt on my parenting journey so far...
My kids are the perfect reminder to slow down and take in the quieter moments of your day. They notice so many things that I miss or am too busy rushing past to take in. I hope this present and mindful quality is something they always hold onto.

3. My go to nourishing meal that is super easy and the family loves …
Slow cooked pumpkin soup. Its jam packed with vegetables and broth to warm and fill us up during winter.

4. An important learning seed I wish I could plant in every child …
More now then ever the world needs more kindness. I hope each child has the opportunity to receive and give kindness to those around them each day.

5. I’m the best version of myself …
When I am looking after my physical and mental self. For me this looks like daily movement, plant-based foods and a small amount of time to myself doing the things I enjoy. When I am looking after myself the kids definitely receive the flow on effects of that.
